FORT COLLINS, Colo. — This weekend the CSU Women’s Volleyball team will be making its 19th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Currently ranked 12th in the nation with a record of 28-1, CSU exceeded everyone’s expectations.

One of the biggest forces on the court is a Colorado kid, former Cherry Creek High School star Samantha Peters. The senior middle blocker was just named the 2013 Mountain West Women’s Volleyball Player of the Year.

Which continues the Rams streak, this is the fifth straight season a CSU player has earned the individual honor, and the 10th time in the Mountain West’s 15-year history.

In her final season for the Rams, she’s having the best production of her career.

She is one of two players in the NCAA to average at least 1.43 blocks per set and hit above .400. Her hitting percentage is on pace to rank fifth in CSU single-season history, while her blocking average is just outside the top 10.

NCAA Tournament play begins on Thursday against Cal State Northridge. The Rams have made nine Sweet 16 appearances. Click on the video above for more about the Rams.
