FORT COLLINS — A trio of Colorado State volleyball players were recognized Wednesday by the AVCA All-American committee, all receiving honorable mention honors.

Senior middle Sam Peters, junior setter Deedra Foss and sophomore opposite hitter Dri Culbert each picked up the honorable mention accolades, adding to their growing list of honors after a 28-2 season for the program.

All three of them were first-team all-Mountain West picks as well as all-Pacific North region selections.

Peters, named the Mountain West player of the year in her first year as a starter, ranks in the top 25 nationally in both hitting (.402) and blocking (1.42 per set), making her one of just four players in the nation to average 1.4 blocks while hitting better than .400.

Foss, the conference setter of the year, finished with 1,282 assists on the year. Her average of 11.76 per set ranks 10th nationally. She backed it up by hitting .409, averaging .82 blocks, .29 aces and .81 kills per set.

Culbert was one of the top opposite hitters in the region, averaging 2.52 kills per set while hitting at a .304 clip. Possessing a strong all-around game, she had 10 or more kills in 15 matches and 16 matches with double-digit digs, eight of them double doubles.

It is the seventh straight season the Rams have had multiple players recognized by the committee. For the past three seasons, the Rams have landed a player on the third team.
