FORT COLLINS — Colorado State seniors Marlee Reynolds and Kelsey Snider are headed overseas.

Both were selected to take part in the 2014 Mountain West Global Challenge All-Star Volleyball Team, a squad of 12 of the top players in the conference that will spend 12 days in Europe this summer competing against junior national and top club teams.

“It’s a unique experience for these two players,” CSU head coach Tom Hilbert said in a release. “They get to witness volleyball in a different country while playing in a highly competitive tournament. It’ll be a life experience they’ll never forget, and will help them become better players individually and for our team.”

The team will spend four days in Venice, Italy before playing matches July 13-18 in Pula, Croatia.

Eight of the 11 schools in the conference are represented on the squad that will be coached by San Diego State’s Deitre Collins-Parker.

“I’m very excited for the opportunity to play in Europe,” Reynolds said in the release. “It’ll be such a different environment of competition, but it will be a great experience to play with other athletes from the Mountain West.”

Snider is on of three players on the team who was named to the 2013 all-Mountain West team. She also played internationally last year, traveling with another team to China.

“I’m really looking forward to playing in Europe,” Snider said in the release. “I want to play professionally after college, so this is good preparation for me. I’m also really excited to just see all of the sites.”
