RSVP for the Community Issues Forum
Fall 2017 Community Issues Forum
November 17th
6:00-8:30 pm
Lincoln Center

Twice a year the City collaborates with the Center for Public Deliberation to host a Community Issues Forum to share information and discuss important community projects. The next forum will focus on the following three topics:

Broadband Access – The City is exploring options regarding the future of “Next Generation” high speed internet service. The City has been researching various service models and gathering input and data on what the community wants and needs. Options run from “Do Nothing” to a full “Retail” model. What is the City’s role in ensuring affordable, accessible internet for our community?

The Road to 2020 - The City of Fort Collins has a goal to reduce emissions by 20% below the 2005 levels by 2020. The plan to achieve this is continuously evolving and the City wants to ensure effects to all parts of the community are considered. Weigh in on how the City should move forward, engage in interactive activities, and learn what you can do to take part.

Revenue Diversification – The City relies largely on sales tax for revenue. Staff has been asked to research options that would diversify the revenue base.  Different tax and fee options will be presented and discussed as the City looks for ways to diversify, lower sales tax, and remain revenue neutral. Should the City diversify? And if so, how?
