Colorado State volleyball moves into top 10 in rankings

CSU officially has a top 10 volleyball team.

The Rams moved up six spots to No. 8 in the AVCA coaches poll released Monday, Sept. 15.

Colorado State University went 4-0 last week, including a four-set win over then-No. 9 Brigham Young University. BYU dropped to No. 12 in this week's poll.

The ranking is CSU's highest since 2004.

The Rams play at No. 18 Arizona State (8-1) at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19.

Also Monday, the Mountain West named CSU's Kelsey Snider as the conference's top player for the week of Sept. 8-14.

The senior middle blocker averaged 3.38 kills, 0.62 blocks and hit .383 as the No. 14 Rams went 4-0 during the week.

Snider was instrumental in CSU going 3-0 to witn the UTEP/New Mexico State Invitational. In an upset of No. 9 BYU in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Snider had 13 kills and two blocks and hit .393.

In a sweep over UTEP, Snider had 13 kills, five blocks and hit .500.
