The CSU volleyball team will try and make history Friday afternoon.

The Rams are in the regional semifinals (Sweet 16) for the 10th time, but they have never advanced past this round.

To do so this season, Colorado State University will have to get by the No. 2 seed Texas. The Longhorns (25-2) are a perennial powerhouse and made the Final Four last season.

CSU (31-2) will play at 3 p.m. Friday at the Sports Pavilion in Minneapolis. The winner of Friday's match will play in the regional final at 4:30 p.m. against the winner of North Carolina and Oregon.

The 15th-seeded Rams beat the University of Denver (3-0) in the first round and the University of Colorado (3-2) in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Texas beat Northwestern State (3-0) and Arizona State (3-0).

Tickets are available at CSURams.com/tickets or at the McGraw Athletic Center box office and are $28 for an all-session ticket. They will be available through the CSU office through noon Tuesday. After that, fans will have to purchase tickets through Minnesota's office.

Friday's match will be streamed online at ESPN3. A watch party will be held at The Boot Grill, 130 W. Laurel St., Unit B.

The team will leave Wednesday and there will be a quick pep rally to send off the team at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the McGraw Center.
