Four public forums have been set for early November to gather input and feedback from the public and the university community on the search for the next president of Colorado State University.

In addition to these listening sessions, the CSU Presidential Search Advisory Committee (PSAC), also announced it will hold its first meeting on Friday, Nov. 16, 9-10:30 a.m. in the Conifer Room in the Michael Smith Natural Resources Building on campus. This meeting is open to the public, as are all meetings of the search committee and public forums.

The public listening sessions, which will all be held in the Cherokee Park Room of the Lory Student Center on campus, are scheduled for:

• Friday, Nov. 2, 1-2:30 p.m.
• Thursday, Nov. 8, 1-2:30 p.m.
• Thursday, Nov. 15, 1-2 p.m. and 3-4:30 p.m.

The forums are designed to provide opportunities for faculty, staff, students, alumni, friends and community members to discuss desired attributes for candidates as well as the opportunities and challenges that await a new university president. Participants will be able to share their input through both written and spoken comments. There will be a sign-in at the door and no RSVP is required.

Those who can’t make the sessions can provide input to the search committee via email at csu_feedback@Mail.colostate.edu. All feedback from the live sessions and submitted through email will be compiled and shared with the committee as part of their review process. In addition, a website providing ongoing information and updates about the search, including an additional place for public comment and input, will be launched as the search committee begins its meeting schedule.

The 16-member advisory committee is chaired by Nancy Tuor, Colorado State University System Board of Governors vice chair and former Federal Client Group President for the Environmental, Nuclear, and Government Facilities Business Groups for C2M HILL. She also participated in all aspects of the 10-year, $7 billion Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Facility Accelerated Closure Project, as both COO and CEO.

The committee will provide input on the development of a candidate profile, job description, and leadership statement for a national search. After identifying and interviewing applicants, the committee will recommend qualified candidates for consideration by the BOG, which is the hiring authority. “This input from the campus and broader community is critical as we work to help the Board of Governors find the next president of CSU,” Tuor said. “This is an important search to build on the last decade of real success at the university and find the right leader to help improve on that. Gathering a broad range of input is key to getting this right, and we encourage everyone to share their thoughts and aspirations, as well as what they see as the opportunities and challenges facing Colorado State.”

The Parker Executive Search firm, which has conducted more than 2,000 senior-level searches over the past 30 years, will assist with the national search. Parker Executive Search (parkersearch.com) has a national and international client base that includes leading colleges and universities, top intercollegiate and professional sports programs, Fortune 1000 corporations, nationally recognized academic health sciences centers, and hospitals/health systems.

The presidential search follows a recent announcement by Dr. Tony Frank and the BOG that Frank will begin serving exclusively as chancellor starting July 1, 2019, after five years as both System Chancellor and University President.
