Equity and the Politics of Comedy
Contemporary comedy helps us navigate the politics of elections, free speech, and social justice. Hear from political comedy scholar Nick Marx and discuss how we determine what is and is not off limits to joke about.

Friday, April 26th, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. in Lory Student Center, room 372-374.

Your registration will help us order enough food and refreshments (vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free will be available).

Please download and read the article and watch the videos linked below to prepare for our conversation (like a book group!). One video is from a right-leaning comedian and one from a left-leaning comedian.

**Do note that stand-up comedy very frequently has content that is offensive and based on negative stereotypes. Although we did not select extreme examples here, these clips are no exceptions - and this is exactly what this session will discuss.
