CSU Day at the NWSS: Get in touch with your inner cowboy

CSU Day at the 2018 National Western Stock Show.

Bust out your boots and jeans and dust off that old cowboy hat – you don’t want to miss CSU Day at the National Western Stock Show.

Saturday, Jan. 19 is when the National Western Stock Show celebrates all things CSU. Special events include the 11 a.m. Pro Rodeo (special seating in the CSU section), all-day grounds admission and trade show access to more than 900 vendors. And, of course, you get to see the wildly popular Frontier Airlines Mutton Bustin’ and baby animals exhibit.

CSU Day at the 2018 National Western Stock Show.“CSU Day at the Stock Show is one of my favorite days,” said Kristi Bohlender, executive director of the CSU Alumni Association. “It’s an amazing opportunity for our alumni and friends from all walks of life to celebrate their love for CSU while attending one of the truly iconic annual events in Colorado. The National Western Stock Show and CSU have worked hand in hand for many decades, and CSU Day is one of our many beneficial partnerships.”

Lots of CSU-related activities

While you’re there, make sure you stop by Ag Adventure at the National Western Stock Show, an interactive exhibit created by several Colorado commodity groups and CSU’s agricultural sciences students. The fun, engaging activities and exhibits teach children about how food is produced. The exhibit, which attracts more than 70,000 visitors each year, includes information from the Colorado Department of Agriculture, Colorado Farm Bureau and commodity groups such as beef, dairy, eggs, potatoes, corn, wheat and honey producers.

After that, visit the CSU Alumni Association booth on the third floor to get your picture taken with CAM the Ram.

Discounted tickets ($18 to $23) are available by using the promo code NWSSCSU. The stock show opens Jan. 12 and runs through Jan. 24.
