January 2025
This semester, we’ve embraced our theme—Science for All!—bringing hands-on science experiences to Indigenous communities, partnering with Amplify and MURALS to launch first-year academies, engaging local students through CSU SPUR and PSD visits, and collaborating internationally with the Jærmuseet Science Circus in Norway. In this issue, we spotlight Luis Aceves Plascencia, our inspiring intern; Mr. Joe Chiavini, an accomplished alum; and Misty Brave, a valued partner helping expand our reach. Thank you for supporting our mission to ignite curiosity and inspire a lifelong love of science!
June 2024
Welcome to our June 2024 newsletter. The big news: Open House is back, bigger and better than ever! Also inside, LSOP visits a Texas for the total solar eclipse. Check out the updates on our work to connect with Native communities, visit local schools, and work with CSU Spur. And finally, read about the LSOP experience from the point of view of former interns, Brenna Sydow and Grace Balle, and see the awesome work that Eric Hazlett is up to now at St. Olaf College.
January 2024
The last half year has been extremely busy for the LSOP Crew. We teamed up with Amplify to develop two awesome new programs, worked with indigenous communities, and took part in the grand reopening of the Madison McDonald Observatory. LSOP teamed up with the Physics Department to host the American Association of Physics Teachers Colorado/Wyoming Section annual meeting and we teamed up with CSU Spur to host an eclipse watching party. We also developed Making Waves kits with the American Physical Society as part of PhysicsQuest. This newsletter features an article called Part of the LSOP Family by our intern (and brand new CSU student) Erika Monrreal-Garcia!
Summer 2023

Learn about the recent happenings at LSOP including the Spring Science Extravaganza, as well as our work with CSU Spur, Bohemian Neighborhood Science Experiences, and our Indigenous Connections.
