Join us with special guest, Tim Hernández, for conversation over a shared meal about collective action, liberation movements and activism. Tim is a teacher, community organizer, and Chicano from the Northside of
Denver. He currently represents the Northside and Westside of Denver in the
Colorado General Assembly. He made statewide headlines when he was fired
from his job at North High School in 2022, sparking the largest student
walkouts in the last 50 years for Chicano studies, Chicano teachers, and
calling for more teachers of color in Denver Public Schools. He is 27 years
old, the first member of Gen Z to serve in the Colorado House, and a committed
fighter for fully funded public schools, attainable and affordable housing, and
preventing gun violence in Colorado.
